The PixaPro 2in1 Heavy-Duty Compact Reclining Studio Light Boom Stand is a highly versatile lighting stand, that can either be used as a regular height, with an impressive maximum height of 400cm (13’ 1”) or converted into a boom stand for positioning your light directly above your subject. Its aluminum alloy construction makes this stand lightweight and robust. With its larger footprint diameter and the included counterweight sandbag, ensure that the studio light boom stand maintains maximum stability at an affordable price. The perfect tool for any portrait, beauty, headshot, product, food, fashion, event, wedding photographer, or videographer, whether they are studio-based, or want to take it on location.
A unique feature of the 2in1 heavy-duty recclined stand is that it can be used as either a regular 400cm high light stand, or it can be used as a boom stand if you need to position your light above your subject. To use this stand as a boom, simply pull up the top two sections of the stand until the centre pole comes out, then the horseshoe-styled metal-hinged lock mechanism to turn the stand into a boom. When you have positioned your boom to the desired angle, tighten the handle, to lock the boom arm in place. Perfect for times where you need to position your light above your subject, or if you want to position your light front and cantered, without the stand itself getting in the way of your shot.
The PixaPro 2in1 reclined boom stand is made from aluminum, making it relatively lightweight, yet strong. Since this stand is lightweight compared to another stand of this type, it is the perfect studio light boom stand for photographers and videographers who travel from location to location. It is great for use in permanent studio locations also.
The 2in1 reclined boom stand features a large 122cm footprint diameter to ensure maximum stability. Each leg is stabilised by twin leg braces, connected by rivets, to ensure that the legs do not collapse.
The PixaPro 2in1 studio light boom stand has a 3-tier telescopic central column, enabling it to extend between its minimum height of 120cm, and its maximum height of 400cm (13’1”). An all-around excellent stand for general use.
The 2in1 heavy-duty reclined boom stand features a horseshoe-styled metal hinge bracket, which enables you to set your boom to the angle that you require and then securely lock it into place using the metal grip handle when the stand is in its boom-stand form.
The PixaPro 2in1 studio light boom stand ships with a standard 5/8” spigot with 3/8”-16 thread at one end, and a 1/4”-20 thread at the other. The spigot also features one flat side for a greater grip surface. This prevents your lights or accessories from rotating whilst in use.
The 2in1 heavy-duty boom stand ships with a hardwearing sandbag, is designed to counter-balance the weight put onto the end of the boom, to prevent the stand from tipping forwards and injuring someone or damaging your equipment. If you are not using the 2in1 boom stand in its boom form, you can also place it over the base of the stand for extra stability.
The PixaPro 2in1 Heavy-Duty Compact Reclining Studio Light Boom Stand allows you to mount your light stand up to 400cm in height, offering a stable platform to use and transport with your lighting effortlessly. This makes it the perfect tool for any portrait, beauty, product, fashion, event, wedding photographers or videographers, in a fixed location or to travel with.
Balancing tip: when counterbalancing the weight of the light on the end of the boom, a good general rule is that the balance should be level even when the angle adjustment is not tightened, otherwise, your counterweight needs to be adjusted. Once that's done, go ahead and tighten the angle adjustment handle.

Got it with the AD600, does the job, found it easy to use the only thing i regret that i didn't choose the combo option with the bag as it doesn't go in my CB-06 because of its length.
This stand is what I needed for indoor and outdoor work. It easily holds my AD600BM flashlight + 150cm softbox. I would recommend this stand to anybody who needs its portability and security for their equipment ( a little heavy item bear in mind).
Strong and sturdy like other stands from Essential Photo yet to use
Wow, great quality as usual and is perfect to use in my home studio. Would recommend !
First time ever needing kit like this, so was a little apprehensive about what I would receive. I needn’t have worried. It is an amazingly well built piece of equipment. I only use it to mount a small projector and camera so don’t need sandbag, but even with boom arm out, I know it is not going to tip or wobble. Only having a small studio, I was really pleased with the size it folds down to when not needed as well. All of the loosening/tightening adjustment handles are of good quality, and you don’t feel the need to over...read moreFirst time ever needing kit like this, so was a little apprehensive about what I would receive. The 2in1 boom has been designed to sit the boom inside the stand when not in use, In order to setup the boom you will need to remove this from the central column. To do this, you will first need to loosen the knob and horseshoe and extend or pull the boom all the way out until you can no longer. You should see a small space in between the stand and the central column when extended.
From here you can then rotate the boom on the horseshoe connection and then lock it back in place.
